January Reset: Finally Back to Being a Functional Human
This month has been surprisingly chill. After the chaos of 2 months in New York, Mexico, Florida, and NJ - slipping back into a routine feels amazing. My ass got FAT - leaving the US I was 88kg (194lbs)… and after 1 month back in Bali I’m down to 84kg (185lbs). A routine of supplements, meals, and surfing is a godsend for getting back in shape. The only holdout is sleep…which is probably the most important but hey gotta pay for this lifestyle somehow.
Long Weekend Escape to Nusa Lembongan
I snuck off for a long weekend to Nusa Lembongan, and yep — still stupidly beautiful.

It’s rainy season, so yeah, it poured every single day. But honestly? I love it. Fewer people in the lineup, empty beaches, and a good excuse to go chill in a cafe. The surf crowd is super intense in Keramas as it’s the good season with the winds, so it was nice to get a break from that.
Rebuilt Nana’s Recipes App in Record Time (Thanks, AI Overlords)
In between salt-water therapy sessions, I decided to liquid-glassify the Nana’s Recipes app I built almost 6 years ago.
I rebuilt the whole thing… in one day. Without writing a line of code.
Sure, it’s a super simple app, but still — updating to the latest OS, fixing a graveyard of deprecated code, squashing bugs that probably dated back to when people still used iPhone 6… and it just worked. Then Apple Review took two days 🤣
The AI hype was a bit overblown in 2025, but it’s really kicking off in 2026.
Food Adventures & Breathing Room
Beyond that, I’ve been sneaking off to a few new restaurants, eating well, and just soaking up the calm.

These next two weeks are going to be super chill before the next trip kicks off. No plans, no pressure — just good waves, good food, and hopefully a few nights where my sleep schedule takes precedence over the job.
Catch you next update — from somewhere with even better food and a LOT of snow ❄️
