Oaxaca ☠️🎃

Here's what's been going on...

  • Spent a week back in Mexico City

  • Enjoyed a long month in Oaxaca for Dia de Muertos

  • Headed back to Bali

Viva Oaxaca 🇲🇽

Mexico oh Mexico. Hands down the most underrated country I’ve been to.

After I spent a few weeks feeling at home at the beach in El Salvador - I hopped on a flight back to Mexico City for a few days.

It was all bonus trip at this point - I had extended my travels a few weeks after some people I met said I should stay for Dia de Muertos.

Sooo I did.

When I got to Mexico City, I knocked a few to do’s off the list and then hopped on a bus to my favorite place of the long 3-month adventure…

Sunset in Oaxaca

Oaxaca is truly one of the most magical places on the planet. A unique blend of history, culture, food, and people. I pray it stays that way.

You can feel the effects of over tourism, but at least the city is pretty much set in stone so there’s no new building going on…but there is a lot of displacement as gringos move in. Anyway - just a side note if you plan on visiting - do be conscious of the effects of gentrification.

I arrived a few weeks early to ease into the town and prepare for the festivities…but things started the day I got there! There were parades every single day for most of the month. I later found out this wasn’t just for dia de muertos - they actually have parades all the time for everything 😆

It was a once in a lifetime experience (that I’ll likely do more than once ;) to be there during the festivities. Looking back - it feels like one of those trips where in reality it was only a few months - but I felt like I lived an entire lifetime. So many memories and stories.

There’s a million pictures and videos I still haven’t gone through but I’ll drop a few down below…

PS if anyone knows how to drop a bunch of pics and videos into some software to make a little slideshow and share via email let me know.
